Are we failing to understand the nature of our enemies and blinding ourselves to the threats that they pose?  Today’s guests address this issue beginning with Nina Shea of the Center for Religious Freedom at the Hudson Institute.  Nina first explains the situation in Egypt where the Muslim Brotherhood is not being open about its agenda for the new Egyptian government.  It is likely though that broad restrictions and punishments for any expression against Islam will continue to be instituted.  These will target women, religious minorities, and political reformers, and further hinder the discussion about freedom of speech in Egypt by essentially taking it off the table.  This perverse agenda is only being exacerbated here in theUnited Stateswith the recent State Department conference with the Organization for Islamic Cooperation.

Ned May, blogger at the Gates of Vienna and Big Piece contributor, addresses the issue of Sharia law. Court cases inEuropehave proven that Sharia law is being upheld and thus the question is can the imposition of Sharia happen here too?  InAustria, an activist by the name of Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff has been found guilty of hate speech.  Her case highlights the point that Muslims can defame Christians and Jews without facing prosecution, but under Sharia law all other faiths are prosecuted for exposing Islam.  Similarly in theUnited Kingdom, the courts have upheld Sharia law by forcing a Muslim mother to give her child up for adoption in order to prevent the mother’s father from carrying out honor killings.  It appears that Sharia law is taking precedent over the common law of European countries.

Next Diana West, columnist at the Washington Examiner and author of The Death of the Grown-Up, examines how the doctrine of Sharia law is being enforced in theUnited States.  This submission to Sharia doctrine stems fromUS counterinsurgency doctrine in which our goal over the years has been to convince the Islamic people, inAfghanistan for example, that we are the “good guys”.  Unfortunately this concept has led to increased sensitivity to and accommodation for Islamic norms and practices that have saturated our military training.  This has also led to directives such as at the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) that dictate adherence to Islamic law and provide a means for the regulation of American freedoms.

Today’s show concludes with Clare Lopez, Senior Fellow at the Center for Security Policy and former CIA intelligence officer.  Clare explains some recent court cases and documents that point to the connection between the Iranian government and Al-Qaeda.  First, a judge ruled in favor of several family members of 9-11 victims because of proven evidence thatIranand Hezbollah provided support to Al-Qaeda for the terrorist attacks.  Law firms have joined together to assemble evidence that show this connection too.  TheU.S.people have a right to know the truth about 9-11 and theU.S.government has the responsibility to hold these members ofIran’s political leadership accountable for their actions.

Mvemba Dizolele of the Hoover Institute provides his take on Congo elections. The Democratic Republic of Congo hosts the Holocaust of our time.  6.9 million deaths since 1998.  Will unrest from this year’s election lead to civil war in what is already the most deadly and unstable region on the planet?  Hoover Institute fellow Mvemba Dizolele walks Frank through the state of play and helps us begin to get a picture of the world’s most complex and dangerous place.

Presidential candidate Senator Rick Santorum spends time with Frank to speak about his fellow presidential candidate Ron Paul’s ridiculous notion that America and the world will be safer if America just concedes to field to the Russians, Chinese or Islamists. Congressman Paul is advocating complete isolation and even goes so far as to blame America for the world’s problems. The world has never been as dangerous as it is now and therefore now more than ever America needs to exude influence and maintain a global presence. Why should America be surprised that a federal judge issued a statement citing Iran as an accomplice in the 9/11 attacks? Iran has been hostile towards the U.S. since the 1970s and has worked to kill more U.S. soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan than the Taliban and the Iraqis. Iran is using their oil revenue to attack and undermine U.S. presence in the Middle East as well as going after America’s ally, Israel. Finally, Senator Santorum touches on the Law of the Sea Treaty which he feels is in complete violation of American sovereignty and another attempt to create world governance. Senator John Kerry is pushing an agenda to diminish American sovereignty and power, but the world is a better place when America is in the lead and taking a proactive role. Who do you want to be in control of the seas, America and our values or these despots and their values which are in complete opposition to freedom and liberty?

Andy McCarthy joins Frank to give his analysis on Secretary Clinton’s meeting with the OIC. When good sits down with evil, it is never a good thing. There is nothing to be gained from this meeting because what the OIC wants is to impose Sharia on to the American landscape. The best thing that can come out of this meeting is nothing, the status quo which is not what the Obama Administration wants. Secretary Clinton announced that the government would not infringe on freedom of speech, but will try to use “naming and shaming” to condemn those who speak ill of Islam. Is it right that the American government tries to shame its citizens for speaking their mind? Instead of serving for the common defense, the government will now be trying to teach Americans how to behave.  Year after year the Muslim Brotherhood as been trying to infuse Sharia into American life and every year they fail, so now they are trying the same tactic but are using a different rhetoric. The Brotherhood is trying to use the incitement laws in America in conjunction with Sharia blasphemy laws to claim that speaking ill of Islam will incite violence and therefore must be outlawed. This is the new tactic being used in order to impose the Sharia blasphemy laws here in America. Same story, new tricks but will the Obama Administration give in to the wishes of the OIC and the Muslim Brotherhood? Another trick of the Muslim Brotherhood is to buy their way into American culture. Powerful positions in the media, institutions of higher education such as Harvard as well as social networking sites are just a few ways in which Islamists are trying to infiltrate the West and impose Sharia on all freedom loving people.

Jon Perdue spends time with Frank to explain the relationship between Hugo Chavez in Venezuela and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Venezuela. The Iranian Quds Force is helping to train Venezuelan forces to prevent any dissention within Venezuela.  Venezuelan military officials have claimed they will not support any new regime even if they are democratically elected. It has been reported that the IRG (Iranian Republican Guard) worked with the students that overran the British Embassy to prevent dissention within Iran. With Iran having a U.S. stealth drone, it is only a matter of time before Venezuela gets their hands on that technology. How long will it take Chavez to reverse engineer the drone? What are the implications of one of Iran’s top military officers being caught in Bolivia?

Author Stephen Hunter speaks with Frank about his new book “Soft Target.” Hard targets are heavily defended instillations whereas soft targets are civilians and instillations that are not protected such as malls. The story centers around armed terrorists taking control of a mall in America, a plotline that could very easily come to fruition. Stephen also speaks about the evolution of terrorism and how there will always be terrorists because there will always be people who are easily manipulated or bribed into committing terrorist acts. Is there any real solution to terrorism? How do we combat an enemy who is willing to die for what he believes in?

Andy McCarthy and Frank converse on the topic of submission and how the Obama Administration is enacting policy that forces American serviceman to submit to Islamic culture. The Islamists waged a domestic war for submission against America over ten years ago and are winning that war. America needs a leader that will stand up for the Constitution and American values instead of submitting to the wishes of certain communities. Andy also speaks on how the Muslim Brotherhood is creeping into Egyptian society, pushing their way into power positions in order to have a say in Egypt’s future. Finally, Andy speaks to the ridiculous allegations by Sen. Paul that American civil liberties are at risk as a result of the bill Sen. McCain and Levin. This is completely outlandish considering the bill just reinforces current law.

Diana West spends two segments with Frank to explain the future of Afghanistan after the 2014 U.S. troop pullout. In an upcoming conference pertaining to Afghanistan’s future, the EU and US are working together to develop a new program called the “New Silk Road.” This will create a pipeline from Asia to Europe for the purpose of commerce. Roads in Afghanistan are not safe as they are; add money to the mix and these roads will become suicidal.  After 2014, America will be leaving an environment of chaos with Taliban and Iranian influence along with broken civil works. Without supreme victory in Afghanistan, what will America have accomplished in Afghanistan when we pull out? Without destroying the Taliban, what will keep them from coming back after American troops leave? West also explains how liberal ideologues in Afghanistan are trying to create a perfect society and change the Muslim man. This is unrealistic and costing lives because troops are trying to change a culture which enrages the members of that culture. When will Obama open his eyes and look at Afghanistan through a realistic perspective instead of liberal social experiment? Are the troops in Afghanistan submitting to Sharia? Policies governing US troops are requiring them to show respect to Islam and honor Islamic cultural practices and these policies dictate military behavior. Who is leading the American armed forces? Isn’t this form of submission exactly what the Islamists want and fight for? What will come out of the conference between Secretary of State Clinton and the OIC?

Christian Adams, a former member of the Department of Justice, sheds light on a nefarious group of militant, racial activists in Guam who are rigging government elections in order to remove U.S. military presence in the country. Only members of the native Chamarro ethnicity are allowed to vote. Guam is a strategic U.S. territory with bomber and submarine bases. Tragically, the Holder Justice Department does not seem to care about the plight of minorities in Guam. Holder is continuing his pattern of upholding voting laws in a racially unfair fashion. If the U.S. military can no longer use Guam as a strategic base, what would that mean for forces in the Pacific? Attorney General Holder either needs to start applying equality to the law or step down from his position. How come the president has not taken issue with this especially since he has claimed the Pacific is a strategic interest to the US? Guam is the most important base west of Hawaii in the American pacific arsenal. The Obama Administration is even using American tax dollars to show support for this racially discriminating election. The Obama-Holder Justice Department is using racially unequal enforcement of the laws to push their own agenda increase their power over Americans.

Weekly Asian expert Gordon Chang speaks on new developments in China.  India and China were supposed to have talks over their border disputes, but this was put on hold when India invited the Dali Lama to speak at an event. The Indians told China they would not allow the Chinese to interfere with internal events. More and more countries in the region are becoming concerned with China’s belligerent remarks and the Indians standing up to China sets the tone for the region, they will not be bullied. China is not trying to adjust and placate their neighbors, but is increasing their belligerence. This can only mean that China will clash with their neighbors and America in the future. The Chinese economy is clearly slipping dramatically and there is concern that in order to avert notice to this problem, the Chinese government will start to engage in misguided military campaigns under the guise of nationalism. The military is increasingly setting their own foreign policy which is extremely dangerous. Will China directly engage in conflict with America or will they engage American allies who will pull American forces into the mix? What kind of economic trajectory is China on? The Chinese military is arrogant and spoiling for a fight, what will this mean for regional security?

Gordon Chang explains China’s “Zero Sum Game” with the United States. The Chinese view towards relations with the U.S. is that one side must win and one side must lose. America sees relationships as win/win for both parties, whereas the Chinese feel that only one party can win and dominate the international system. What can America do to “win” this game? China has becoming more aggressive in their rhetoric towards America. Chinese Flag Officers have claimed that China will engage America in war within the next 5-10 years. How can the American government ignore claims such as that? There are now signs that the Chinese economy is declining and becoming smaller. What does this mean for the Communist Party? Economic tribulations for China will result in them becoming more belligerent towards their neighbors in order to keep the peace within the populace. What will happen if China starts to breakdown? With the EU collapsing, what does that mean for the US and China? The U.S. is in the best position to weather the storm because America has the largest domestic economy, but China will suffer greatly.

Dr. Barry Rubin gives a history lesson on the Muslim Brotherhood. He explains where they came from and how they collaborated with the Nazis during World War 2.  It is reprehensible for the Obama Administration to work with the Muslim Brotherhood and their subsidiaries. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is leading U.S. policy in the Middle East; this is equivalent to the U.S. using Fidel Castro as their advisor to Latin America. How can this policy possibly have a positive outcome? The Obama Administration has claimed that they support the new governments of the Arab Spring and this is part of his Muslim outreach program. If Obama works with the Muslim Brotherhood, what would that mean for American security? The Muslim Brotherhood claims to be moderate, which they are not, and if they gain power then they will follow the Turkish model and slowly take over every aspect of society, not with force, but through controlling the government and legal institutions. This takeover will be slow and take time so as not to arouse suspicion from the international community. What does this mean for Israel, the Middle East and the United States of America?

Mackenzie Eaglen joins Frank to give the truth behind the defense budget cuts. In 2011 the White House Budget Office reported the Defense Budget at $730 billion and President Obama requested that in the next fiscal year it be cut to $703 billion; this was before the debt ceiling deal. The year after that the Defense Budget will be cut by another $26 billion and in 2013 President Obama has requested the Defense Budget be capped at $652 billion. It would be 2016 before the Defense Budget would be able to grow back to 2011 numbers. Since Obama has been president, $700 billion have been cut from defense. Unlike Entitlements, Defense does not have a clear base line for which to cut money. So why is everyone looking to cut Defense when it is much easier to cut Entitlements? What impact will these cuts have on our national security? America’s Navy is the smallest it has been since World War 1 and these cuts will make it the smallest since the 19^th century; what ability will they have to protect the world’s waters? With these cuts the Air Force will be the smallest it has ever been in history and already it is small and aging.

Weekly guest Andy McCarthy gives his analysis on the future Defense cuts and what that means to American security. Andy explains the need to make cuts to defense, especially with a mounting debt, but the government needs to keep in mind their priority and responsibility to protect the homeland.  Why aren’t there cuts to Entitlements? Protecting the nation is a responsibility enshrined in the Constitution, not Entitlements yet they are not on the cutting table. It is necessary that America has a clear goal and direction for its defense and then come up with an intelligent budget to allow the DOD to achieve those objectives.

Baroness Caroline Cox of the British House of Lords spends an hour with Frank in order to shed light on how the British government has handled, or not handled, the silent jihad in the United Kingdom. Baroness Cox tells the story of a woman living in a Muslim community in London who dressed in western clothes and then threated for it because the community lives under Sharia law. Even memebers of the British government are not allowed in these communities because it is seen as their territory. The United Kingdom tried so hard to accomodate the Muslim people, that they now find themselves adhering to laws and regulations that are against English law and norms. Will this atrocity fall upon the United States?

Former Attorney General Michael Mukasey spends two segments with Frank to give his insights into the silent jihad and the Muslim Brotherhood’s successful influence operations here in America. Michael Mukasey recaps his speech on Veterans Day at the Federalist Society, in which he spoke about the motivation for jihad, Sharia and how political correctness is handcuffing officials from openly discussing this situation. The Obama Administration is bending over backwards for these militant groups and leaving the moderate, freedom-loving Muslims without a voice.

Fred Grandy explains how the president is artfully blaming the Republicans for the Supercommittee failure.  An endeavor that was designed to fail, is now forcing the Pentagon to make drastic cuts to our national security.  The president and the Democrats had no intention of ever conceding to any of the Republicans ideas for cutting the budget and therefore it was inevitable that the committee would fail. Is there another way to avoid the hollowing out of our national defenses? Which theaters of operations will get the limited resources that the Department of Defense will have left? We will be pinning the Middle East against Asia, which threat do we work against?

Former House member Fred Grandy, addresses a breaking story in which the valuable U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedoms will be forced to close its doors by the end of the week if Richard Durbin, the number two Democrat in the Senate, succeeds in holding-up reauthorization of the commission’s budget.  Grandy believes Durbin’s motivation for this could either be his own parochial interests or Durbin answering to a higher authority- the Obama administration or the radical Organization of Islamic Cooperation.  Either way this presents an issue area in which the Democrats should apply the transparency that they always preach.

 Matt Brodsky of the Jewish Policy Center gives his overview of the situation in Syria. Syria has acted with Iran to oppose the United States therefore the U.S. needs to take the lead in undermining the regime and helping to establish a democratic government that will work with the U.S. to oppose Iran’s nefarious activities within the region.  If Bashar Assad is removed from power, who would take his place? Can America have confidence in a new Syrian government to help oppose Iran? America cannot allow Turkey to influence a future Syria because they are becoming more Islamist and could help push the Muslim Brotherhood into power.

 Is Turkey headed down the same Islamist path as Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya?  Congressman Dan Burton (R-IN) explains why it would be tragic if Turkey were to be lost to Islamist rule, seeing as how some countries in the Middle East are currently moving towards radicalization and Sharia law.  The Congressman also discusses President Obama’s cancellation of the U.S. missile defense system in Poland and the Czech Republic.  Instead, the Obama administration has proposed a sea-based missile defense system in Eurasia.

Is the international community facing a suppression of the freedom of religion and speech in the face of Sharia law? If so, will the world be dominated by theology, rather than democratic principles? Director of the Center for Religious Freedom at the Hudson Institute, Nina Shea and her colleague, Paul Marshall join Frank to discuss their new book, Silenced: How Apostasy and Blasphemy Codes are Choking Freedom Worldwide. Shea and Marshall give us an insight into the world, where fear of violence for speaking out against Sharia is leading to massive self-censorship. Additionally, the State Department has issued a memorandum to their employees barring them from saying such words as “Salafi, liberty, and jihadist.” Is this memo a way of curbing racism in the workplace or another example of the growing influence of Sharia?

Why are American leaders like Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton working with organizations such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to abolish negative speech about Islam? Isn’t this just an example of stripping Americans of their freedom of speech? If so, why do these same leaders continue to stress the importance of the freedom of speech? Moreover, why are people being put on trial on blasphemy charges in democratic European countries such as Italy and the Netherlands simply for expressing their opinions on Islam and Sharia?

Seeing Real Life Sharia in Action

“Apostasy is, in principle, subject to sharia hudud rules, which means that the punishment—death—is believed to be fixed by divine order and not subject to judicial discretion…,” write Paul Marshall and Nina Shea in chapter two of Silenced: How Apostasy and Blasphemy Laws are Choking Freedom Worldwide (p. 23), without further explanation. Silenced falls far short of the landmark study it might have been, had the authors honestly addressed foundational Islamic principles, history and texts that support offending modern codes, and stated the stupefyingly consistent and pervasive use of sharia laws throughout Muslim history. Specifically, hudud refer to Islamic behavioral limits thought divine since Mohammed established the creed.

Rep. Mike Turner, Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee’s Strategic Forces Subcommittee, explains the importance of America’s nuclear deterrence and how it needs to be upgraded. America’s nuclear capabilities have provided deterrence from not only nuclear threats, but conventional threats as well. With an aging nuclear arsenal the question of reliability comes into play and since America is no longer testing this deterrent, how can we be certain they will work if the need arose? Do America’s allies really believe the U.S. strategic arsenal could provide protection? The Obama Administration wants to rid the world of nuclear weapons, yet the only country that can decrease its weapons is America. Rep. Turner speaks on the importance of America’s strategic arsenal to be upgraded and well funded in order to provide an appropriate defense of the nation. The threats to America have only increased and we must be able to meet those threats.

 ICE Special Agent in Charge for Arizona Matt Allen speaks about Operation Pipeline Express. This was a multiagency investigation of an 80 mile stretch of the Arizona/Mexico border to combat the narcotics smuggling within that tough, rugged area. The Sinaloa Cartel was the focus of the investigation which moves approximately 1 million lbs. of marijuana into the U.S. per year. The outcome of the operation yielded 76 arrests and interrupted the flow of some $33 million dollars worth of narcotics. The cartels watch how law enforcement handles the situation and then adapts to overcome federal and local efforts, in turn agencies such as ICE must watch what the cartels are doing and adapt to overcome those efforts in order to secure our borders.

CBN reporter Erick Stacklebeck enlightens listeners on Mohammed Elibiary who markets himself as a moderate Muslim. The Obama Administration took notice and swore him in as a Homeland Security Advisor and helped shaped the Obama Administration’s counterterrorism strategy. Elibiary has a record of supporting Muslim Brotherhood ideology and used his Secret Clearance to access sensitive government information and then leaked it to the media. His goal, reportedly, was to spread false reports of Islamophobia and slander GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry. Elibiary is the only person on this 26 man advisory committee with access to this type of sensitive information, yet has not lost his job as a result of this serious breach of national security. Why has the Obama Administration failed to properly handle this situation with horrific national security implications? And why has the media not reported on a story of this magnitude? Why has the Obama Administration decided to halt training on the threat posed by radical Islam?

Mark Durie, author of “The Third Choice,” speaks on how Sharia provisions are being infused with Western laws. A native of Australia, Mark gives insights on how his countrymen are becoming more aware of how Islamists are working towards implementing Sharia into the Australian legal system. Fortunately, the Australian government has recognized this threat and worked towards keeping Australia Sharia free and therefore upholding the rights of everyone. “There is one law for everyone,” is what the Australian government proclaims when asked to implement Sharia into society. The end goal for these Islamists to have Shaira, in its entity, infused in Western society and allowing any parts of Sharia into a free society is a slippery slope and it is hard to draw the line on where to stop. It is better to not even start with allowing this archaic, submissive legal system into western society. Western nations around the around the world are experiencing this pressure to implement Sharia provisions, will they follow Australia’s lead or will they succumb to pressure from these Islamists?
