September 7, 2010- Monologue
I have some thoughts about transnationalism. This is in the news for the moment because, among others, President Obama has associated himself with this larger program that envisions a better world, a new world order if you will, in which we are, as he put it famously in Berlin during the campaign, citizens of the world. Now what is worrying is not simply what we have seen, so much of as President Obama acts on this program: his serial apologies, his bowing and pandering to various unsavory international leaders. To be sure that he has gotten the most attention, the most notoriety in terms of his policy approach, has prompted me to define the Obama doctrine as emboldening our enemies, undermining our friends and diminishing our country.
In the latter category, what President Obama is doing often out of the public eye is perhaps even more worrying than what we have been seeing and that is, especially when these actions are taken together, steps that will have the practical effect of institutionalizing the core notion behind Mr. Obama’s brand of this transnationalist agenda. A term much admired by his top international lawyer, State Department legal advisor, and perhaps future Supreme Court nominee, Harold Coe. This is a new world order in which the United States is simply one nation among many, subject to a higher and utterly unaccountable authority. Now, many of these changes are taking place, as I say, out of the public eye, and a lot of them have to do with activities at or in connection with the United Nations.
Let me focus on one, in the brevity of the time that we have, highlighted by our friend and often a guest here, Claudia Rosette. In her Forbes.com column last week, she talked about how the US is trying, as these transnationalists want to do, is to promote an image of being the example for the rest of the world. So at the United Nations on the 5th of November, we are going to subject ourselves to the approval by the United Nations Human Rights Council, made up of such unsavory tyrannies, as I mentioned earlier, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Cuba, and China. What is particularly appalling, as Claudia points out, is that the administration seemingly wants to subject to the criticism of such worthies, Arizona’s effort to enforce Federal Law governing immigration, something the Federal government is not doing and, as best as we can tell, has no intention of doing under President Obama.
This is all being carried forward under the classic trendzy, if I could use that expression, of creating “in a more perfect union in a more perfect world”. How do you like them apples? The President’s team is being properly up rated by the governor of the state of Arizona, who wrote Secretary of State Clinton, a sharply worded rebuke, in which she said “the idea of our own American government submitting the dually enacted laws of a state of the united state to “review” by the UN is internationalism run amuck and unconstitutional”. Amen to that, but actually what it is, is quintessential transnationalism. When you throw on top of it, what the non-secular transnationalists have in mind, the people we talk here about a lot, the proponents of Sharia, who have their own end state, a Caliphate in their case not the world run by UN bureaucrats, you see these guys coming together to work their will against sovereign free nations like ours and you realize what is really at work here is an effort permanently to diminish this country by eliminating its sovereignty, making it subject to the dictates of one or another of these transnationalist rulers. Well matters have been made worse by the announcement today, that George Soros, the multibillionaire known for cratering economies around the world, is going to give a 100 million dollar challenge grant to one of the worst of the transnationalist organizations, human rights watch, and has announce he intends to endow a bunch of other organizations in a similar vain. We are going to find out, I am afraid, that the world is going to be made, official and unofficial, considerably more dangerous for freedom loving people at the hands of citizens of the world. I hope you join us in resisting all of this.
