August 9, 2010 – Gordon Chang, Jerry Gordon & Michael Mukasey
Today on Secure Freedom Radio, Frank begins by speaking about why Shar’iah has caught on in the general dialogue of the news and political figures. Frank explores why this subject has caught on, and what it may mean for you, considering the mosque controversies. Later, Gordon Chang weighs in from Hong Kong and will speak about the increasingly aggressive rhetoric of China and if it will be accompanied by action. Jerry Gordon from the New England Review, who will speak about the newest mosque controversy in Murphreesboro, Tennessee. Finally the show will finish up with special guest Michael Mukasey, former US Attorney General, who will speak about Anwar al-Awlaki and the reasons why it’s OK that the military target him despite the fact that he has citizenship.
First up, my thoughts on the question of these mosques. Suddenly it seems as if everyone is talking about Shar’iah, a subject we are very directly and regularly engaged in at Secure Freedom Radio. I guess its because these mosque controversies, whether its in Murfreesboro, which we’ll be discussing with Jerry Gordon, or New York City or the west coast, or elsewhere in the United States, are proving to be teaching moments for many Americans. As their awareness is raised about the repressive, theo-political military legal doctrine that is Shar’iah that animates the builders of these mosques and they and their fellow adherents seek to impose on the entire world. Unfortunately, too many Americans remain unaware of the magnitude of the danger we face from this totalitarian program. And their ability to comprehend what is going on, let alone respond appropriately to it is serious disserved by people who know better or certainly should.
Specifically, I think the public is being misled by some journalists and politicians who seem determined to obscure the true nature of Shar’iah, assuming that they understand it themselves. And then, there is the problem of Shar’iah practitioners that engage in deliberate deception to facilitate the penetration of their doctrine into western societies like ours. An example of the first these journalists who are either dissembling and certainly misleading us was prominently featured on the front page of the New York Times on Sunday, under the headline, “Battles around nation over proposed mosques”. Now it accurately reported as I indicated that Americans are concerned from Ground Zero in lower Manhattan to San Bernardino, in California about the mosques that are seeking, in the worlds of the New York Times, to replace the US Constitution with Islamic Shar’iah law. Yet the Times goes on in the course of its article to dismiss all these concerns, suggesting that the words of some interfaith groups that this is just merely a matter of people having fear because they don’t know whose involved in these mosques enterprises. Now, to the contrary, as people learn more about what these mosque enterprises are about they know all they need to know. And that is, that they are pursuing a totalitarian ideology, and agenda, and doctrine that is at alls with all we hold dear.
And way worse is Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the mayor of New York City, who has taken to task those of us who are critical of the construction in the immediate proximity to ground zero, a massive mega-mosque. He said we ought to be ashamed of ourselves for being intolerant. And he has expressed absolutely know interest in where the 100 plus millions dollars that is going to build this mosque comes from. Now this is striking because these contrasts so sharply with what the New York Police Department has said is a real danger associated with mosques like this that have imams that fancy the kind of program, the Shar’iah program of the Wahhabis of Saudi Arabia. And I think that what is all the more stunning is that when his own police department has indicated like they did two years ago this month, that the Wahhabi mosques are incubators for radicalism here in the United States, he has a responsibility, Mayor Bloomberg does, to figure this out. To find out whose involved and not to be so depreciative, so dismissive of those of us who are really concerned about what Faisel Abdul Rauf and his friends have in mind.
Then there is this business of Taqiyya, the lying for the faith that many from the Shia community engage in. Let me just give you one example, again out of this New York Times article. A spokeswoman for the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro, Tennessee Camie Ayash is quoted as saying that, people are just listening to “total disinformation on Islam.” And she proceeds to engage in a classic example of real disinformation about Islam, suggesting that there is no conflict between the United States Constitution and Shar’iah law. Now, even a most superficial reading on it makes clear that such a statement is preposterous and misleading. Shar’iah is utterly, wholly incompatible with out legal system, our freedoms, and our way of life. We are entitled to understand the true nature of the threat we face from Shar’iah. We are entitled to straight talk from others, from out political figures, from our journalists about the extent in which it is being insinuated, promoted, and legitimated, not only in mosques but by financial institutions, banks, academic institutions, and government agencies. Those who fail to provide such unvarnished truths are part of the problem and should be treated accordingly. Those are my thoughts, and I welcome yours.
